From day one, my trainer, Ryan Trujillo, dissolved my insecurities and doubts regarding training, making me feel comfortable and fully capable. As a result of our instant connection, I noticed both physical and mental transformations taking place every day. Ryan's empathy, compassion, and positive, fun-loving spirit is critical in keeping me engaged and eager to work out. Through his expertise and encouragement, I've successfully lost nearly 50 pounds and 16.5% body fat. Although I started with zero prior gym experience, I'm now addicted to the process. I continue to set new fitness goals each month with Ryan by my side, offering never-ending support and praise.

Once I discovered that David Scott had evacuated Crunch for HVY Industry, I followed and never looked back. At first, I thought I might be intimidated by HVY. It's beautifully appointed, well-equipped and has the best of that private client feel, but is that for me? The answer is unequivocally yes. Everyone here is kind, upbeat and helpful. I wandered in to HVY Industry after driving by a few times and I'm so glad I did. I have been coming here for a bit over a month now and have already seen great results. My trainer, Ryan, is an amazing coach, trainer and now, friend. He has become such a resource for any and all questions I have about nutrition, food, exercise, etc.. and trust me I have a lot of them. Every trainer here has their clients' best interest at heart, will greet you with a smile and will quickly make you feel like you belong. Zero judgment and always filled with good energy. I was looking for a personal trainer and a gym where I would be comfortable. It's not as easy as you might think in LA. Most gyms are runways and most of the trainers I interviewed were intimidating.
We aren't your typical members. I'm a 54 year old Mom with an 18 year old son and we both need to lose weight and work out. I was having trouble finding the right people to guide us on this journey and I needed people I felt I could trust with my son who was reluctant. My kid is getting ready to leave home and I wanted him to develop some skills for survival on his own.
The last phone call I made was to the owner at HVY. His warmth and enthusiasm encouraged me and we went to check out HVY. He was so knowledgeable, truly kind, and made us feel welcome. He knows how to inspire and has hired a top notch team who are dedicated to personal fitness and a gorgeous, clean facility where everyone is treated as an equal. We both agreed that we had found our place with them. Not only could they train him, they offered boxing and self defense instruction. This is what I wanted to give my son. An education.
My son has been working out for a little more than 2 weeks. In that short time, we have experienced the care they offer, the communication they offer as well as the careful instruction in the gym. My reluctant son now loves going to the gym, is getting the education necessary to lose weight and learn how to eat and find his strength. He has already lost weight and gained muscle mass and is feeling good about going! He communicates directly with his trainers. They have been great with him and I am so thankful we found this team of support.
This is not your ordinary gym. It is pristine. It is kind. It is a supportive environment. Not an intimidating place where you're not comfortable. It is exactly what we needed. The owner has been available, and his radiant kindness is so infectious. When I worried about a swollen knee, they responded with honest concern. They have great equipment, great trainers and a great atmosphere.
We invested in this team. We are sacrificing other things we don't really need in order to afford this because it's that good and I consider it an investment in my son. And it's already paying off in both physical and mental fitness.
If you're looking for a place where you'll be treated with respect and kindness, look no further. HVY is designed for us, the normal people of all ages who need support and training.
I will update our journey as we go to show you the results. I feel so grateful to have found this caring team and welcoming atmosphere. HVY gave my reluctant son a sense of belonging and are training him with enthusiasm and great care.
